Diane Phillips, The "Heart" of Hopedale

Although we enjoyed all of our encounters with the folks we met, there are a few who touched our hearts in a special way -- Diane is one of these people. As we drove down the main road leading to the Hopedale Marina we couldn't help but notice a woman sitting on the porch of her trailer along with a couple of guys with a "Defend Our Coast" sign hanging above her head. All it took was for us to wander up to her porch and she welcomed us with open arms. We will never forget her.
